Mazda Continues to Excel in Safety with Multiple 2023 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ Awards

Culver City Mazda is excited to share the recent achievements of Mazda North American Operations (MNAO), as three of its stellar models have been honored with the prestigious 2023 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards. The 2024 Mazda3 sedan, Mazda3 hatchback, and Mazda CX-30 have demonstrated outstanding safety features, securing the highest recognition from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

Earlier in the year, the 2023 Mazda3 sedan, Mazda3 hatchback, and Mazda CX-30 had already earned the IIHS’s lower-tier TOP SAFETY PICK award. However, Mazda didn’t rest on its laurels and continued to enhance the safety features of these models for the 2024 model year. The result? The coveted TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation, showcasing Mazda’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of safety in the automotive industry.

To qualify for the TOP SAFETY PICK+ award in 2023, a vehicle must meet stringent criteria, including a good rating in various crash tests, such as driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, original moderate overlap front, and updated side tests. In addition, acceptable or good headlights must be standard across all trims, and the vehicle must have a front crash prevention system that earns advanced or superior ratings in both daytime and nighttime vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations.

This achievement underscores Mazda’s dedication to providing not only stylish and performance-driven vehicles but also ensuring the utmost safety for its drivers and passengers. The 2024 Mazda3 and CX-30 models now stand proudly alongside the 2024 Mazda CX-90, which also received the TOP SAFETY PICK+ award.
